The Most Delicious Easter Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients for your casserole

2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 

2 Tablespoons grated parmesan cheese 

1/4 teaspoon salt 4 large eggs

 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes 

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1 cup whole milk or cream 

1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped (adds a wonderful taste!) 

3 cups of cooked breakfast sausage (I used Jimmy Dean Hot), cut into small pieces 

8 slices mozzarella

 Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, mix together all ingredients except for your mozzarella cheese. Pour into prepared pan and top with your mozzarella cheese.

How to make the Easter breakfast casserole

To get started, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then, in a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until browned and crispy. 

Transfer bacon to a plate covered with paper towels and set aside. 

In a bowl whisk together eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Pour half of egg mixture into an 8×8-inch casserole dish that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

Sprinkle half of cheese on top of egg mixture followed by 1/3 cup ham and 1/3 cup cooked bacon crumbles.
