Tips for making simple peanut butterballs
It's a simple treat, but I have to admit, dipping balls in chocolate isn't my favorite thing to do! Here I involve my children in the process. They love to help out in the kitchen from time to time, especially when it comes to one of their favorite foods!
Make sure they are cold when you submerge them. This will make the process MUCH easier! The chocolate will harden faster and the peanut butter balls will hold their shape as you dip and pat the excess warm chocolate.
I prefer to use Ghirardelli Melting Wafers for dipping. They melt so smoothly and taste great. You don't have to add a tablespoon of butter or butter to the chocolate to thin it ... it just has a perfect consistency!
BUT if you can't find Ghirardelli waffles, you can certainly use chocolate chips or even almond shells. Since chocolate chips need to be melted, this is where you can add a tablespoon of butter or butter to the chocolate to thin it out a little to make it easier to dip.
